Indirect Rates Unchanged for CDMRP Awards in 2008

Section 8115 of the Fiscal Year 2008 DOD Appropriations Act prohibits the use of DOD basic research appropriations provided in the Act on any contract, grant, or cooperative agreement with negotiated indirect cost rates in excess of 35 percent of the total cost of the agreement. Because none of the programs within the CDMRP are funded by basic research appropriations, this rule does not apply to CDMRP. The US Army Medical Research Acquisitions Activity will continue to apply its existing policies for negotiated indirect cost rates when negotiating all contracts, grants and cooperative agreements for CDMRP funded programs.
