Department of Defense Neurofibromatosis Research Program
Funding Opportunities for Fiscal Year 2007

The Fiscal Year 2007 (FY07) Defense Appropriations Act provides $10 million to the Department of Defense Neurofibromatosis Research Program (NFRP) to support innovative research to eradicate the clinical impact of neurofibromatosis (NF) and Schwannomatosis. This program is administered by the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command through the Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP).

FY07 NFRP Program Announcements for proposals in the following mechanisms are expected to be released in late February 2007:

  • Investigator-Initiated Research Awards
  • New Investigator Awards
  • Concept Awards

Detailed descriptions of each of these mechanisms, evaluation criteria, submission requirements, and deadlines may be obtained in the FY07 NFRP Program Announcements. Each Program Announcement will be available electronically for downloading from the Grants.gov website (https://www.grants.gov) and the CDMRP website (https://CDMRP.HEALTH.MIL) upon its release in January 2007.

Beginning this year, full proposals requesting funding from the CDMRP will be submitted through the Federal Government's single entry portal, Grants.gov, in compliance with Public Law 106-107. Individual program announcements and required forms will also be found on this website. A Letter of Intent (LOI) will be required and will be submitted through the CDMRP eReceipt website, https://cdmrp.org.
