DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE - CONGRESSIONALLY DIRECTED MEDICAL RESEARCH PROGRAMS

New For Fiscal Year 2007

November 16, 2006

Beginning this year, full proposals requesting funding from the CDMRP will be submitted through the Federal Government's single entry portal, Grants.gov in compliance with Public Law 106-107. Individual program announcements and required forms can also be found on this website. As in previous years, award mechanisms requiring Pre-Applications including Letters of Intent (LOIs), Pre-proposals and/or Nominations will be submitted through the CDMRP eReceipt website https://cdmrp.org.

Grants.gov is an E-Government initiative to provide a simple, unified electronic storefront for interactions between Organizations and the Federal agencies that manage grant funds. The grant community, including state, local and tribal governments, academia and research institutions, commercial firms and not-for-profits, can electronically find and apply for competitive grant opportunities from all Federal government granting agencies.

Before an Organization can submit proposal applications through Grants.gov, the Organization must register in Grants.gov to create an organizational profile. In addition, an Authorized Organization Representative (AOR) who is authorized to submit grant applications for an organization must also register. Once registered, the Organization can apply for any government grant on Grants.gov. Please note that Individual Principal Investigators/Project Directors DO NOT register and CAN NOT SUBMIT a proposal application through Grants.gov -- only an Authorized Organization Representative may submit grant proposals. The registration process can take several weeks, so please register as soon as possible.

Questions related to the program announcement, proposal format, or required documentation can be emailed to cdmrp.pa@amedd.army.mil or called in at 301-619-7079.

A help line for questions relating to the electronic Pre-Application process is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern time at 301-682-5507. Help also is available on the CDMRP website (https://cdmrp.org)or by email: help@cdmrp.org.

Issues in submitting Full Proposals through the Grants.gov portal should be directed to the Grants.gov help desk at 1-800-518-4726 or email support@grants.gov. The Contact Center hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern time.
