Department of Defense Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Research Program for Fiscal Year 2003

The FY03 TSCRP Program Announcement will be released in mid-March 2003, with receipt of electronic submission proposals due August 20, 2003 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time. This announcement will call for proposals for the Idea Development Award mechanism.

Idea Development Awards are designed to encourage innovative research directed towards a better understanding of the role and functions of the proteins produced by the TSC1 and TSC2 tumor suppressor genes. They are intended to stimulate and reward innovative research ideas that may be viewed as high risk but have the potential for high gain in scientific and clinical knowledge. Specific interests of the TSCRP for FY03 include proposals that:

  • Address the signaling pathways involving TSC1 and TSC2; or
  • Examine the way(s) in which the loss of TSC1 or TSC2 contributes to disease phenotypes.

A detailed description of this award mechanism, evaluation criteria, and submission requirements will be available in the FY03 TSCRP Program Announcement. This document can be downloaded from the CDMRP web site (https://cdmrp.army.mil) upon its release. All applicants will be required to submit one electronic version of their proposal as a PDF (Portable Document Format) file.
