Department of Defense Lung Cancer Research Program
Funding for Fiscal Year 2010
The Fiscal Year 2010 (FY10) Defense Appropriations Act provides $15 million to the Department of Defense (DOD) Lung Cancer Research Program. The goal of the LCRP is to eradicate death from lung cancer to better the health and welfare of the military and the American public. For FY10 this program will support the development of an early detection program for lung cancer in military beneficiaries.
The FY10 LCRP is interested in the following clinical study areas:
- Combination of multiple detection/screening modalities
- Development of non-imaging-based screening program
- Prospective validation of early detection/screening biomarkers
The FY10 LCRP will offer the Lung Cancer Early Detection Clinical Consortium Award. The Program Announcement/Funding Opportunity, including the intent of the award mechanism, eligibility, submission deadlines, and Application Instructions and General Information, are anticipated to be posted on the Grants.gov and CDMRP websites in early September 2010.

A pre-application is required and must be submitted through the CDMRP eReceipt website (http://cdmrp.org) prior to proposal submission. Proposals must be submitted through the federal government's single-entry portal, Grants.gov.
