DOD CDMRP Research Funding for 2010

The Fiscal Year 2010 Defense Appropriation Act provides research funding for the following programs managed by the Department of Defense office of Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP):

Cancer Research Programs

  • Breast Cancer Research Program $150 Million
  • Peer Reviewed Cancer Research Program $15 Million
  • Lung Cancer Research Program $15 Million
  • Prostate Cancer Research Program $80 Million
  • Ovarian Cancer Research Program $18.75 Million

Additional Research Programs

  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Research Program $7.5 Million
  • Autism Research Program $8 Million
  • Bone Marrow Failure Research Program $3.75 Million
  • Genetic Studies of Food Allergies Research Program $1.875 Million
  • Gulf War Illness Research Program $8 Million
  • Multiple Sclerosis Research Program $4.5 Million
  • Neurofibromatosis Research Program $13.75 Million
  • Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program $50 Million
  • Peer Reviewed Orthopaedic Research Program $22.5 Million
  • Spinal Cord Research Program $11.25 Million
  • Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Research Program $6 Million

Program Announcements with detailed descriptions of funding mechanisms, evaluation criteria, submission requirements, and deadlines are anticipated to be released during winter/spring of 2010. These specific details, including deadlines, are not available until the Program Announcements are released. Each Program Announcement will be available electronically for downloading from the Grants.gov website (https://www.grants.gov), the CDMRP website (https://cdmrp.health.mil), and the CDMRP eReceipt website (https://cdmrp.org) upon its release.

Pre-Applications (such as a Letter of Intent or Pre-Proposal) are required, and must be submitted through the CDMRP eReceipt website (https://cdmrp.org). Required forms can also be found on this website. Full proposals must be submitted through the Grants.gov website (https://www.grants.gov).
