DOD CDMRP Research Funding for 2007

The Fiscal Year 2007 (FY07) Defense Appropriation Acts (Public Laws 109-289 and 110-5) provides research funding for the following programs managed by the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP):

  • Breast Cancer Research Program $127.5 Million
  • Prostate Cancer Research Program $80 Million
  • Ovarian Cancer Research Program $10 Million
  • Neurofibromatosis Research Program $10 Million
  • Autism Research Program $7.5 Million
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Research Program $1 Million

Program Announcements will be released as soon as possible from each of these research programs with detailed descriptions of funding mechanisms, evaluation criteria, submission requirements, and deadlines. Each Program Announcement will be available electronically for downloading from the Grants.gov website (https://www.grants.gov) and the CDMRP website (https://cdmrp.army.mil) upon its release.

Three CDMRP research programs did not receive FY07 funding, specifically the Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia Research Program, Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Research Program, and the Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program. We remain hopeful that these programs will be allocated congressional appropriations for FY08. Please note that we will continue to monitor the progress of awards previously made by these programs through grants management and program evaluation. These CDMRP research projects in progress have funds obligated and available for the full term of the awards. Institutions currently receiving funds will still do so according to the terms of their negotiated agreements. We will make updates to the CDMRP web site by posting further news, research highlights and consumer profiles as they become available.

Beginning this year, full proposals requesting funding from the CDMRP will be submitted through the Federal Government's single entry portal (https://www.grants.gov) in compliance with Public Law 106-107. Individual Program Announcements and required forms can also be found on this website. A Pre-Application will be required for all proposals, submitted through the CDMRP eReceipt website, https://cdmrp.org.
