Department of Defense Gulf War Illness Research Program
Funding Opportunities for Fiscal Year 2006

The Fiscal Year 2006 (FY06) Defense Appropriations Act provides $5 million to the Department of Defense Gulf War Illness Research Program (GWIRP). This program is administered by the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC) through the Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP).

The FY06 GWIRP Supplement to the USAMRMC Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) is expected to be released in September 2006. Two award mechanisms are anticipated, Exploration-Hypothesis Development and Investigator-Initiated.

Detailed descriptions of each mechanism, evaluation criteria, submission requirements, and deadlines will be available in the FY06 GWIRP BAA Supplement. The supplement will be available electronically for downloading from the Grants.gov website (https://grants.gov/) and the CDMRP website (https://cdmrp.health.mil/) upon its release in September 2006.
