The Fiscal Year 2006 (FY06) Defense Appropriations Act provides $127.5 million to the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program (BCRP). This program is administered by the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command through the Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP).

FY06 BCRP Program Announcements for the following funding mechanisms are expected to be released in late February 2006:

  • Era of Hope Scholar Award
  • Era of Hope Postdoctoral Award
  • Center of Excellence Award
  • Clinical Translational Research Award
  • Historically Black Colleges and Universities/Minority Institutions Partnership Training Award
  • Predoctoral Traineeship Award
  • Multidisciplinary Postdoctoral Award
  • Idea Award
  • Synergistic Idea Award

Please Note: Because of the unique and prestigious nature of the Innovator Award, the BCRP plans to offer this award mechanism every third year, pending availability of funds. Therefore, the Innovator Award will not be offered in FY06.

Detailed descriptions of each mechanism, evaluation criteria, submission requirements, and deadlines will be available in the FY06 BCRP Program Announcements. Each Program Announcement will be available electronically for downloading from the Grants.gov website (https://grants.gov) and the CDMRP website (https://cdmrp.army.mil) upon its release in late February 2006.

Requests for e-mail notification of the Program Announcement release may be sent to prequest@constellagroup.com. For more information about the BCRP or other CDMRP programs, please visit the CDMRP website.
