Department of Defense Announces Awards Summary for FY98 Ovarian Cancer Research Program

The U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC), through the Department of Defense Office of Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP), is pleased to announce the awards summary for the Fiscal Year 1998 (FY98) Ovarian Cancer Research Program (OCRP). The programmatic strategy for the FY98 OCRP sought multidisciplinary Program Projects capable of building a sustainable national ovarian cancer research infrastructure.

The scientific community was encouraged to explore new directions and bring new investigators into the field of ovarian cancer research by designing Program Projects with a common theme relevant to ovarian cancer prevention and/or etiology. Five Program Projects were awarded to the following institutions: Brigham and WomenÂ’s Hospital, Mayo Foundation, University of California/Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Minnesota, and University of Texas/M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

More information about these awards as well as other CDMRP research programs and awards, including those of breast cancer, prostate cancer, and neurofibromatosis, can be found at the CDMRP web site: https://cdmrp.army.mil.
