The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Research & Development (ORD) and the Department of Defense (DoD) Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP), Gulf War Illness Research Program (GWIRP) are co-hosting the first ever Virtual Gulf War Illness State of the Science Conference on August 18 and 19, 2020. Importantly, this date coincides with the 30th Anniversary of the Gulf War, Operation Desert Shield.

The purpose of the conference is to present and advance the state of the science on Gulf War Illness (GWI), raise awareness of the federal research funding landscape related to GWI, and to encourage collaboration among research groups and across disciplines.

The conference will be held online and includes: a keynote address, a Gulf War Veteran panel and oral presentations.  Pre-recorded virtual research posters will be available for viewing online.  This conference is open to the public. 

Please see the attached flyer with pertinent registration and other key meeting information, in a format suitable for printing or posting online for wide distribution to reach Gulf War Veterans, their families, caregivers, and health care providers that may have specific interest in this subject.
