DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE - CONGRESSIONALLY DIRECTED MEDICAL RESEARCH PROGRAMS

Posted January 22, 2019

Through a collaboration between the National Institutes of Health (NIH), CDC, VA, DoD GWIRP, and the GWI community, Common Data Elements (CDE) have been developed for GWI. The goals of this effort are to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical research studies and treatment, increase data quality, facilitate data sharing and aggregation of information across studies, and help educate new clinical investigators. In early 2018, members from the GWI community participated in a CDE development working group to prepare standard template case report forms and instrument recommendations for clinical research studies. Version 1.0 of these documents is now available for public review to elicit feedback from the community. For additional information, please visit the resources below. Feedback will be accepted via email at GWICDE@nova.edu. Comments can be sent in the text of an email, in the provided template response spreadsheet, or as annotations within the documents.
